Space to Make
I was given the task of designing a space to make. When I think of making, I think of puzzle pieces. On a similar note, I was also designing a chemical plant for my senior chemical engineering project, and saw parallels between it and puzzle pieces. As a result, I designed a chemical laboratory for everyone to learn about chemicals and creation.
This model incorporates many designs to inspire others. The clear floors and open concept layout allow others to see what products are possible to make. There are also two tracks you can take: making a simple or complex reaction. The simple reaction allows any walk-in person to mix and separate chemicals. There are modules when picking out chemicals and equipment, which simulates the possible products and outcomes. Additionally, the chemicals are displayed in a way to mimic its hazards. Furthermore, the complex reaction areas have clamps and tables with wheels to be able to combine equipment in any way possible.
