After looking at old comics, I decided I wanted to paint a picture using a similar technique and create an image out of dots of just 3 colors. I used an app to create a comic book picture of Japanese blossoms, then blew it up on a large sheet of paper. With a ruler, I mapped out the dots on my canvas. Starting with yellow, I drew horizontal and vertical lines down the page, where the intersecting points would be the locations of each dot. Using my reference photo, I examined how large each dot should be. Next, I drew diagonal lines for the pink and blue dots using the same technique. Since I used ink pastels to draw the dots, I capped off the painting by blending the dots together with water to give it some dimension.
